Itinerary

08:00
Příbram, House of Bride

Gathering at the house of the bride with drinks and nibbles. The Wedding Party gathers at the house of the bride in the morning, welcoming all guests with some nibbles and beverages. It’s an opportunity for everyone to gather together and say hello before it’s time to depart for Orlík at around 09:00.

11:00
Orlík nad Vltavou, Orlík Castle

Ceremony at the Orlík Castle. The Wedding Party will congregate on the first floor of the Castle, in the wedding room, with a lovely view of Orlík Dam. The room is of moderate size, and this may mean some younger guests may be required to stand for the duration of the short ceremony.

The Czech ceremonies are more moderate, a fair bit shorter and much less energetic (quieter) than those of the UK! Keep this in mind please! Here the registrar and translator will give a short speech culminating in the Bride and Groom confirming their commitment to the marriage - saying yes! The Wedding Party will then head outside to take some pictures in front of the castle before the boat ride at 12:00.

12:00
Orlík nad Vltavou, Orlík dam

Boat ride around the Orlík dam. The Orlík castle was built on a high cliff above the deep valley of the Vltava river. Centuries later the river was dammed, becoming the largest body of water by volume in the Czech Republic and the castle now sits just above water level. The boat ride will take us around the dam, to appreciate the views of the castle, which look stunning from the water. Be sure not to overfill as the dinner will be in the early afternoon, but some light refreshments will be offered on board and the ride will last around an hour.

15:00
Jince, Ermi Hotel

Dinner and reception at Ermi Hotel. Upon arrival guests that will be staying overnight will be accommodated and then everyone gathers in the luxurious garden area, where the reception takes place. The event will begin with a dinner (menu is in the invitation), followed up by some speeches. At around 17:00 a band - Jerry’s Band - will play, starting with a first dance from the bride and groom, followed by a traditional “family dance” where parents of the bride and groom are invited to dance together. After that, everyone is invited to join in the dancing, hold and sway is a valid choice here! :D

Later in the evening, some Lindy Hop (swing) music plays, starting with a performance dance from Bride and Groom, where guests will be encouraged to form a circle and hold some sparklers! A few songs later, during which guests are encouraged to continue dancing, there will be a join in lindy dance, in “follow the leader” style! Matching this, in a similar way there will be join in a country line dance lead by Karel and Jarka.

At some point in the evening there will be the cutting of the wedding cake by the Bride and Groom for your entertainment, followed by a grill party with lots of BBQ food and veggies.
